To ensure a quick recover it is important to ensure:
NO FOOD ON THE NIGHT OF SURGERY
Someone is home to watch the night following surgery and ideally the following day. (If someone cannot be home the following day, you are welcome to bring your dog back to the clinic for babysitting).
Keep cool and quiet preferably in air conditioning for 1 week
Feed and water at an elevated height (their shoulder height is best)
Small meals of soft food for up to a week
Give Atropine injections as directed on the label
Please telephone on (07) 5549 0624 the morning after surgery to give an update as to how you and your dog have gone overnight
Any concerns out of hours please call or text Dr John Norris on 0418 855 908
